The Special Operations Forces Industry Conference is the premier event of its kind in the world. The conference draws over 1200 attendees from Government, industry and academia, and features nearly 500 exhibits.

The theme for SOFIC 09 is: "Science and Technology for Special Operations Forces - Improving Operator Capabilities for Fighting the Global War on Terrorism." Stated objectives include development of a shared understanding of the USSOCOM Command's needs and priorities and to establish greater synergy and responsiveness between industry's technology development activities and the Command's technology gaps. As a result of participating, attendees will develop insights, establish partnerships and begin to understand how to respond to the Technology Development Objectives (TDOs).

SOFIC 09 will be a panel led, science and technology conference, with formal presentation of reviewed technical papers. The Conference has been organized into four Categories, each led by a Technical Subcommittee.
